Concerts

We love giving our pupils opportunities to perform and we have regular concerts. Ian Brown is our staff accompanist and pupils can sign up for free accompaniment sessions on 4 Saturdays each term.

The Christmas concert is on the last Saturday of the Autumn term.  It’s a very colourful and festive occasion involving lots of pupils from the youngest First Steps pupils to some of our most advanced students.  All the ensembles perform and there are Christmas carols to sing accompanied by the QYMC orchestra.

In the Spring term we have our annual Recital at the beautiful St Mary’s Church in Perivale.  This is the showcase for our older and more advanced pupils.

At the end of the Summer term we have a formal evening concert at St James’ Church, West Ealing.  Like the Christmas concert all the ensembles and all the Introduction to Music and First Steps pupils perform.  There are also a variety of solos and class performances.

Since moving to Little Ealing we have also started to hold more intimate concerts for our less advanced pupils, giving them a chance to play solos to a smaller, less intimidating audience.  The first of these was on March 16th and was a great success.

The Jazz Ensemble has been busy this year and recently played at Hampton Playhouse as part of the TW12 Jazz Festival.
